.mobi domain

to: mobile developer crowds

As of January 2007, top level domains .mobi have been sold in quantities of 300 000. Personally, I am not convinced as to the practicality of introducing new TLD. Alternative solutions include:
- USER AGENT recognition and content adaptation(Volantis) under traditional domains;
- direct redirections (QR code in Japan); allowing user to scan the code with the mobile phone camera and be directed to even most complex URL i.e. nani7704.ne.jp/0701/

It seems that the industry is going to create solutions adapting to meeting the standard websites i.e. the iPhone and its browser rendering whole sites the same way as the Opera Mobile does.
