Personaly, I have used Samsung 740SC on a prepaid basis from Softbank.
I bought it from DonKichote for 14000 yen with 6000 yen credit included.

One of the coolest feature is "1 seg" tv tuner.
Before I used mainly Nokia, SE phones and Samsung D900 in the UK .
I was very happy with 740SC and its price/features ratio.

JAPAN: DOCOMO premiere of the 'separable mobile phone'

NTT DoCoMo Inc exhibited a prototype of the "Separate Keitai," a mobile phone whose key operation part can be separated from the display part at CEATEC JAPAN 2008. The prototype use magnets and bluetooth to deliver modular functionality. Fujitsu also displayed a smiliar prototype.
